REVISION: Looking anew at the Art of Philip Johnson and the Design of The Kreeger Museum

  • The Kreeger Museum Washington, DC (map)

2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the completion of the Kreeger Museum building. In 1959, David and Carmen Kreeger began to amass a formidable collection of modern art, which after fifteen years assembled the majority of the Museum’s holdings. The Kreeger Museum was designed by world famous architect, Philip Johnson, in 1964, and completed in 1967. The Museum has asked two prominent Washington architects, Michael E. Hickok and Yolanda Cole, FAIA, of Hickok Cole Architects to conceive and curate a special exhibit celebrating the occasion.
